Mannequin dreams

I had this idea that maybe one of our lead characters would have dreams about the other one, adding to the awkwardness. And that maybe they could be humping an anonymous dummy to begin with, which later in the dream was revealed to be the real life person! Hooray awkwardness!!!

There’s a sort of theme I’m working on, in which people learn to value each other – and the best way to learn that essential lesson, is to entirely fuck relationships up, right?! Like when we treat people like yummy trinkets to use and abuse, it’s a shallow veneer of real love, which soon gets revealed as a pointless exercise in wankerdom.

Those persuing toxic hookups on Tinder/Grindr will be all too aware of the pitfalls of this one. Or perhaps not; for some people it takes ten years of humping random people before they grow up enough to recognise it’s them who suffers, and the Joey Tribiani approach to love is literally poison in your veins. Sorry, but yeah. People are valuable, they are not for consumption, and the consumption wrecks humans and lives, and takes quite a bit of working back from. Imo.

Anyway, to that ethical thread end, I was going to use a dummy to help symbolise the consumption of the female form; like women are just yum snacks to be consumed. But I’ve changed my mind; it’s not going to make it into the comics, because although the look is cool, it just doesn’t fit with the plot / character thread. I’m describing the same ethos in a different way, no mannequin required. Still, I had some fun making this crazy dummy humanoid – based (as always) on a great freebie.
