… ahem. Aaanyway, let’s all calm down and look at some render developments of Marcus Goodfellow while we wait, shall we? Super, super, yes.
Just like developing Sophie, I’ve been working on Marcus and his environment at the beginning of the next Skybloom comic, so here’s some test renders for lols:
^ there’s so much wrong with this initial render, I don’t know where to begin. Look at that shower water, why does his torso look like it’s dead?!?!! Oh Marcus, come on lad stop wanking and tell us why you’re wearing one grey sock?! And are you … hovering above that water?
^ okay we’re getting closer, much better water and the light’s more focussed. And your torso’s alive once more, old boy. Phewph.
Now I just need to add splashes of water so it doesn’t look like he’s getting sliced in half …
^ … NOT LIKE THAT. I lolled when I saw this; I used the ‘champagne’ material for the water splash, and forgot that champagne’s a bit yellowy, so it looks like one rather magnificent golden shower for our lad. Not sure if want 🥂🍾. Added some texture to the towel so it’s not quite so boring and colourless in there, but that’s a bit distracting / high contrast so let’s soften it up a bit …

There was going to be just one more Skybloom comic, but going through the [substantial] script this week, I think it’d need to be about 250 pages long, so I’m going to chop it into smaller chunks. Will update as we go … dashing through the snow … on a one-horse open sleigh, laughing as we boobies.
