Kinder Haiku

Okay, we’re 110 pages in to Kinfolk #2, and phewff! Turns out it’s going to be a lovely little voyage, this one. I’ve tried to make quiet moments, sort of enjoy the scenery kind of breaks amongst the silly chats or the nudity [or both] … as I think that was a strength of the first comic. Taking time, enjoying the moments, looking at the way the breeze moves the clouds. You know; shit like that.

Also I’ve decided the path the broader plot’s going to take and it’ll follow a haiku pattern where instead of three lines, there’s three comics, titled in a haiku just for beauty’s sake. And like a haiku can feel a bit disjointed as you read it, each line very separate statements, this comic series will follow the same pattern – each comic would work as a one-off with its own internal conclusion, but then as a three they make a larger arc that gives a feeling of like oah snaaaaap when you read it. Anyway, that’s the intention, we’ll see when it’s done.

And if possible I think I’ll make them all exactly the same page count … but we’ll have to see as we approach the end of this one. That might not work out, I just like the beauty in working towards it.

I mean … it’s pointless and difficult, sure. But so are all the best things. So … here we are.

Oh! And before I forget … boobies.

Wait, it’s a period piece … bubbers? Bubbers.

  1. This was the 1st story of yours I ever read. I fell in love with your storytelling and art and character development and then went searching for more! Thank you SOOO much for sharing your gift with me & others who appreciate quality!! YOU ROCK!!!!

  2. A multi part haiku story must be a first for me, ambitious and pointless so definitely worth a go. Let’s hope it doesn’t fly over my head. Does also provide an excuse to ready all three in quick succession when that opportunity arises. You seem to be on a highly productive streak this season, I hope it’s distracting you from the madness in the world. I know that your fabulous stories do that for me, keep on trucking xxx

  3. Sindy, I fell in love with you work from the first time I say Lithium. Now going through TRMFB and the rest, you are an amazing storyteller and artist.

    Thank you!
