… I honestly can’t decide. Help me decide. I slightly don’t want to do Lithium, because it’s the last one and I sort of don’t want that series to ever end. It will, and I’m not writing in more Lithium comics because it does need to end – but its been a fun ride and I’m happy knowing it’s still hanging there.
On the plus side I do have freaking tons of concept comics which I could complete – and some of them are 50-100 pages done already. Here are the top 9 choices:
^ Option (1) As the RMFB/DAFB (comic 6) lore has already mentioned John and Daisy Archer getting rambunctious in the 1980s, I could work more on that comic and create that plot, and I know there’s lots of interest in that.
^ Option (2) then there’s the (btw a bit mad) Mary Poppins & H G Wells side-quest and how that knits into all the other STFW comics/universe. Maybe I’ll just keep that one super short for lols. I might hold that one back and continue knitting tiny Easter Eggs into the other comics first, before travelling through time and joining up all the references.
^ Option (3) then there’s the second Kinfolk comic – that might be the final Kinfolk too, depends how it plays out (sometimes I don’t know which path it needs to take until I’m midway through creating the comic).
^ Option (4) the final Madiy and Crash? Which weaves into …
^ Option (5) Arcmage (a LOTR -style adventure. But with more humping)
^ Option (6) Lore story that ties together Kinfolk with the statue head. Pre-Mary Poppins.
^ Option (7) Next Skybloom. Grrrnk!
^ Option (8) Croatia coast / Porco Rosso’s island retreat thing.
^ Option (9) is kinda waiting on permission from DesertFox.
Then there’s … literally uh … six, seven other comic concepts and storylines written or already partially created. In fact I have a lovely one I’ve made in the last 2 weeks, that’s already at 65 pages long; a modern-day thing that’s pretty lovely I just need to figure out how best to release it. Hehehh, long story. Aaaaanyway.
I know, I know … okay maybe I do have some slight ADHD tendencies and have been utterly prolific in not quite completing a zillion sidequests over the last few years … ahem … I mean I’ve still completed tons of comics too, so I’m not gonna feel bad about being more productive than entire creative studios, whilst functioning as an adult with lots of IRL stuff going on as well. Too much caffeine, maybe.
So vote! If you like!
(Tbh having laid it all out like this it does help me just get an idea for what to work on next, but feel free to chip into the discussion)
11) Family Bubble #7? This my prefer (after the Lithium).
The first 10 story not bad, the 9) and the 8) would be pretty good.
4,7,and 8. Those are the ones I like to see first. On a slightly different note, Do you take suggestions 🤔? I have a couple, will ok a lot really.
Red – I don’t tend to take suggestions, as I have a million of my own ideas all battling enough as it is hehe! But having said that, I am occasionally swayed by other people’s ideas as well – so please feel free to send them to me. Either message here, or if you want it private, message me on Renderosity (you’ll need a free account) https://www.renderosity.com/dashboard/sitemail/compose?uid=946092
SAJ Fan – you know Tira Yugen has produced RMFB #7 already, right? Check their Renderosity account.
The order you put them in works fine for me. Backyard family romp.
Looking forward to Madiy and Crash, especially more of the real world scenes behind the story. But not looking forward to it ending (of course).
Time Machine is gonna be great, but you know best about piecing it together for connection to various comics.
I guess those are my top three choices but I’ll enjoy whatever you create first.
Thanks Jerry, yeah I am actually wondering about Madiy and Crash tbh, because then that’d be one completed. Hmm.
Oh Sindy…. you’re not gonna like me…. Of the ones you listed: Skybloom, would be a great choice. That said my all time favorite is Lithium and would dearly love to see more of that (told you that you wouldn’t like me). Madliy & Crash is always fun but I can’t choose that one if its gonna be their last strip. Of the ones NOT mentioned; Family Bubble would be wonderful but I would REALLY be enthused with a continuation of Grace (GREAT STORY!!!) OK I’m done….. but I have to add that all of your creations are really fantastic and greatly appreciated…. its just that I do have favorites. Can’t help that.
Thanks Jack – Grace was great but yeah that story’s been told really – they get frozen at the end of it, then wake up in Lithium #10, so not much elbow-room for a continuation. Unless I wedged in a sub-plot about their pod getting found by pirates or something. Hmm. No! Don’t get me started aaarghhh!! I have too many sidequest ideas already arrrghhh! Family Bubble is Tira Yugen’s thing, you’ll have to talk to him/her/them!
Well, there is the pregnancy or did I miss something?
Soo many choices… I always say we are along for the SAJ ride. Whichever you choose it will be good… I just hope you don’t burn yourself out before you complete your comics. 🤗
It really comes down to whatever cranks your shaft the most. You’re the writer/creator. But my vote would be Madiy and Crash (such a fun comic), another Skybloom, then something new like the LOTR one (who doesn’t like the thought of hot elves banging each other?). Then say Kinfolk, Option 2 (to tie in what you’ve done), and from there decide what sounds good.
Whatever you decide, though, I’m looking forward to it.
3,5,7 in no order of preference. Family Bubble #7
Family Bubble #7 was released by Tira Yugen last month tho, so your wish has been granted!
Hmmm ….I do like Skybloom, like, a LOT, but Arcmage also sounds interesting, it would be interesting to see how you broaden your pallet with some lotr style.
It’s not that broad tbh, Arcmage is basically just Skybloom but in a peasant’s village. I might ditch the whole thing, cos Skybloom’s doing it better lol
Star trek
You want me to … create … all of Star Trek?
I mean I can make a start, but …
My current preferences are 1, 4, 7, in that order.
Loving Lithium, and likewise Skybloom, and truly love me some Kinfolk. Been lurking here and loving your work for several months now. Bravo!
I just figured Lithium would go on infinitely, so that doesn’t have to count for my choice. Honestly, I hope we can enjoy a lot more in all of your settings. You seem to enjoy it so much, too, and that conveyance of your enjoyment is so cool!
Kinfolk was the last storyline I delved into (and following along with your other series’ new installments). Kinfolk is so sweet and tender (and very just and kind, as always), you could extend it along the same line for awhile, and I’d be fine with it. But, eventually (maybe immediately) it’s destined for these two to team up against some new and unexpected conflicts. Right?
On the other hand, a new story with a fresh start is enticing, and might eventually come into confluence with some existing ones. The various narratives that you wield seem so unencumbered at times, the possibilities are mind-boggling (keeping with polite language in this comment).
Sorry, but I am not a lover of zombie stories. But, I would probably enjoy your rendition of the genre anyway.
..and this is all just me and my selfish desires. Maybe whatever inspires and energizes your next creation will guide you.
Thanks Mark. Yeah, you’re right on Kinfolk – they’re setup for conflict. As blogged midway through this: https://sindyannajones.com/2024/03/out-of-darkness-into-light/ – they’ve both changed by the end of Kinfolk #1, so are ready to put that into action. It’s like Mike in Lithium – he’s changed at the end of OHB #7 but he puts it into practice in Lithium.
Ultimately they all need to wind into one another because I want it to be one consistent comics timeline … ish … thing. But a lot of my ideas cannot happen due to general life (ie. this isn’t my life, it’s just for fun while I procrastinate from work lol), so many of the comics won’t happen.
My vote is for option 2 because I would like to see how all the varied stories integrate with one another, but you need to follow your muse wherever it takes you.
I mean I’m getting free comics so it’s not like I can complain either way.
1, 4 and 5 for me.
1, because there was some relatable themes, if I remember correctly.
4, for the giggles, I thought them hilarious and sexy.
5, just because I am sucker…
Voting time, always fun!
I mean, firstly, clearly you should (and of course will) do the one that you have most stoke on!
But, if you’re looking for votes to sway your stoke via the masses, here is my gentle nudge:
1. Option 1. This may be one of the hottest setups for a story since Lithium 1! Half the time I check in on your blog is to see if this has had any progress 🙂
2. Option 4. Madiy and Crash have been super fun! I absolutely love the subplots within the subplots, and the naughtiness for them being there.
3. Option 8. I don’t actually recall much about this one, but it looks like a nice setup with a Blue Lagoon type vibe.
Side comment on Kinfolk:
I actually found this one to be a pretty nice ending, and wasn’t actually anticipating more apart from seeds (pardon the pun) of it in other comics of the SAJ universe. I think you’re a master at the buildup, subtleties, and slow burn, and I’m not sure how much space there is left for that with Kinfolk.
Weeeelll yeah … Kinfolk would sorta work like that on its own you’re right. But it’s also all setup for the next bit – which will make more sense if it’s done, then it does tie together more nicely. And besides, there isn’t a spock pop art reference in Kinfolk yet, so it can’t truly be a STFW comic lol
Next Skybloom. I would suggest that maybe have like a third character, like an AI character or stowaway whom everyone misses.
Hehe I mean yeah the potential’s there for sure. I’ve put in the mechanism (and even verbal references) for adding characters, in comics #1 and #2 already – it’s just quite subtle so people have likely missed it. Not saying it’s going to happen, I just wanted to keep my options open 🙂🎁
(if you’re happy to have a spoiler, take a look at page 7 of Skybloom #2)
OMG!
Hold up! Page 4, on the locker… Am I seeing correctly?
Yes, you are seeing correctly! That’s also visible in comic #1 that one, but I slowly make the plot-relevant Easter Eggs more obvious as we get closer to them knitting together in the timeline.
Well, i would love to read a second episode of Kinfolk. Will the sibling marry in a foreign port? Will there mothed for contraceptive really work? Lovely story with beautiful pictures.
The Desertfox gave us a fine story, you are the one which can illustrate it with style or integraty. (Sorry, english is not my native language).
Thanks Egil!
As a long time fan..
1. Pick what you’re most enthusiastic about, as that’s always the recipe for the best quality.
2. My first vote is Lithium, mostly because Finished Story Arcs are best.
3. Remember that finishing a Lithium story doesn’t rule out doing more with those characters in a new arc, if inspiration strikes (and if there are arcs worth arcing).
4. My first LEGAL vote (ie a vote from the options you provided is Madiy & Crash, because I absolutely adore the short blue alien species.
