Okay … seems this website is having a bit of a hiccup, comments system has borked or something. Posts still say discussion/comments are enabled, and yet nobody can comment or even read comments … very weird, sorry about that everybody.
EDIT: fixed it. Turned out it was a plugin being naughty. All I had to do was look at the source code to identify the CSS of the plugin responsible for hiding the comments system, then compare install files of wordpress in order to find my way into the right PHP file directly rather than via the UI, then change the way a certain naughty plugin was trying to cache/lazy-load comments, and voila! So simple hahaha! No, I’m not a developer or some sort of hacker, although I will be wearing a Trilby and smoking a pipe more regularly after this.
On the plus side … I’ve started working on the next Kinfolk comic! Yay!
Look what happened when I loaded the old scene for the first time – none of the textures were found, and defaulted to FIX ME PINK, which I think looks rather good:
Haha!
The pink boat. Gotta be a euphamism for something …
… think I’ll stick with it, stands out rather nicely and saves all that nasty making things look good business …
… and ^that’s^ what happened when I selected the wrong bit of the lantern off the bow to make it glow. Honestly, this comic is determined to be a gaudy Vegas -style homage to Liberace or something. I have to fight it at every step!
… there. Much better. Well done everybody.
In the meantime – I’ve fixed the comments system and plepped some replies out there – phew! Feels weird haunting a website where there’s no discussion, it was super lonely and boring haha! Let’s all take a minute and appreciate open discussion with other humans.
On a related note – I see there’s a man in America who has aligned himself with actual genocide and is making clear his ambitions of actual global conquest! Golly, even as a British person with all of our brutal history behind us (and slightly alongside us, ahem arms deals ahem) … that’s something.
As a human who has even a vague understanding of historical events, I do find this somewhat … eyebrow-raising.
Hello this is me testing the comment function. I have to check a CloudFare spam protection thingie, maybe that’s it?
Ah thank you! Yeah I’ve managed to get into site settings by directly visiting PHP page URLs so my account does have permissions it just seems to be hiding admin stuff for some reason. Maybe it’s a theme issue – currently digging around in that
All sorted. It was a plugin being naughty. And hiding itself lol.
Hmmm. Says I can leave a reply, which is a change from last time I looked. We shall see.
Gaudy Vegas Liberace Homage! LMAO! Funny, but please, no. I drove by the Liberace Museum when it was still a thing but declined a visit. Vegas was gaudy enough as it was. Rachel (near Groom Lake way out in the desert) on the Extraterrestrial Highway was more my speed.
They did have a Star Trek Experience there in Vegas that was great but, alas, long gone. Assimilated by the corporate borg.
I enjoy the subtle and sublime far better. More immersion and depth, less distraction and illusion. But your workplay already reflects that creative understanding of storytelling and nuanced erotica.
Enjoy your process! We will, as always, appreciate the results.
