Okay I’m at the ‘adding details’ part of creating the first few Lithium scenes ready for the next comic’s rendering to start in earnest …
I say ‘start in earnest’, I’m not sure I can guarantee it’ll be in earnest, considering what lovely weather we’ve been having recently, but still, you get the point. Lithium next. I hear it’s important to be earnest, but heck who am I to be consistent, ever? Exactly, exactly, it’s a good point, thank you all for agreeing.
Here are some boring scenery details coming up in Lithium soon:
Look, there’s a single Dorito on the left, and everything. See? Obsessive, almost pointless detail! Main problem is those chocolates are untouched – who does that? Nobody. I’d need to custom edit the mesh though to disappear a few of those choccies, and I’m not 100% sure I can be bothered. Guess we’ll find out.
Talking of which (or changing the subject completely), my GOODNESS did anybody read the 250-page monstrous free comic dropped by Mr Falafel last week?! Well. Wow. Anyway I said I’d share it, so share it I shall. As they put on their Renderosity account:
- zip of pngs: https://mega.nz/file/b5ZgnJhC#4A9P2D5QETnfhV-D0AoekCyR3rC4bGJG4ky8FCzdAh8
- pdf version: https://mega.nz/file/PtxiDTSS#GPXWj1BM3YPTgg_UZzZ5LVjZ1YfmnFQh8EgRPxwQrgI
– Could someone put the comic on e-Hentai, for Mr Falafel, and tag him as the rightful author please? Then I can share it on the comics page too. Anyway, I’m sure there are mixed feelings about it – much like there’d be mixed feelings about Scrooge’s opinions on poverty. But here we are, notching up yet another batch of taboos to add to the STFW list! Hoorah!
One thing I have noticed about ‘taboos’, is that they’re very moreish, aren’t they? You know, you start on something a bit naughty, and before you know it, you’re armpit-deep into troubled waters. Hmmmm.
Good to take a step back from, now and then, refresh the old noggin, have a think about where we’re at. And that’s been the thing about the STFW comics for me, I’ve made a bunch and no matter when they’re set in time, they always explore another kink of some sort – siblings, slavery, size difference, father/daughter stuff, tying people up, pooing in sinks, size difference, dirty talk, winnebagos, voyeurism … erm, penetration using telepathic plants … carrots … yeah, there’s been quite a few over the years.
And to make a ‘kink’ appear in a comic means you have to model it in 3D and care about lighting and posing and texturing and all that stuff and so you accidentally get pretty focused on whatever that thing is. So even if you didn’t really care about that kink before modelling it, once you’re done, sure enough … bam! New interest in a niche thing. I definitely did it with Steph/Mike – didn’t really care about the daddy/daughter thing until I created that comic.
So I do wonder if I’ve been slowly shooting myself in the foot all these years, trying to make my comics as inclusive as possible, trying to open the discussion to every dark corner of the internet, and accidentally opening my poor little heart to lots of dark stuff? Hmm. Maybe we all have that dark stuff in there anyway, we just have to be careful which bits we feed? It’s an interesting one, for sure, and I do appreciate the responses you wonderful lot give. You can comment below, or leave anonymous responses here … as long as you don’t rant too hard.
I had an old friend who was arrested for downloading some particularly dodgy stuff a few years back, and narrowly escaped prison. But it did make me wonder how narrow a path I’ve been treading, making these comics of mine. I do hope I’m not breaking any laws, but then I’m not really sure where the line is really … answers on a postcard.
Aaaaaaanyway, you get the point I’m sure, the onboarding of filth does seem to be a factor we all face at some point.
Here’s young Mr Tucker having the time of his life with his nearest and dearest:
… grunt … shuffle, indeed.
Don’t blame me for what’s on the internet, blame **checks notes** Gareth … Falafel.
If somebody says, “I make my comics more inclusive”…so ..wait. Doesn’t “make stuff more inclusive” usually mean, “we don’t discriminate minorities”? So…is a “thriller” a discrimination of “romcom fans” now?
Maybee we should think about what discrimination is in the first place. If one thinks, that by creating a comic that has no gay character in it, I dicriminates gay people…wow. What impact my comic has to have on the world, that by not mentioning something, I take away somebodys rights. Just…no!
If I like my comics without incest, and if you don’t like it, then just don’t read it. So easy is that.
We could talk about discrimination by society or by countrys or by enterprices. But I do what I like. And if you don’t …why don’t you do something you like instead??
Well … to know if you broke the law, check your local laws. The popup of “incest” on porn sites seems to be from the US. Yes. The country where a law is seen as a restriction and not a protection.
So maybe don’t jump on every wagon… .
PS: I like the dorito…but the chocolate thing was obvious! But I still don’t know why there a are 6 glasses and only one 0.5 liter bottle of water…uh…4 candles. Sorry. 🙂
