Twinspiration

Okay … inspired by a little plot-wrangling in a recent comic … ahem … I’ve gone off on a bit of a SIDE MISSION to start making this comic that everyone said they wanted, back when I did a concept comic poll last year. You remember the one. It was a comic about a young man whose dad gets arrested and so he has to go and live with his mother (who he thought was dead), and twin sister (who he didn’t realise existed).

Anyway if you’d like to help me make it, I need a few 3D products from my wishlist in case anyone’s feeling generous 🙂 [EDIT: no need, someone’s very generously bought the lot!]

And I’d already created a 25 page concept and it was trash because I started with the wrong 3D character. I got as far as trying to render a ‘laugh’ and realised … ah damn, this isn’t going to work.

I mean look at these haunted faces aaaaahhhhhh:

… um, yeah. That’s La Femme, not a great base model to work with, it turns out. So because I’d done so much work I was pissed off and shelved it, and instead worked on Skybloom and Kinfolk, not bad comics let’s face it. But then with the DAFB tie-in, the wider centuries-spanning STFW plot suddenly made sense in my mind, and so I thought heck I’ll dabble a little with the backyard concept, and made these lovelies:

LITHIUM update: still working on that as well, our young heroes are about to jump in the bath of course, because I have a thing about bodies of water.

“We’re gonna need a bath after this.”
