Sitting up.

Okay look, it’s January, people keep going on about joining a gym and losing weight and blah blah, but I figure the older I get the less fit I’ll be and the less effort I’m planning on putting in, so something’s got to give. So that’s right, Charlie’s going to do my exercise for me. Thanks, Charlie.

Also, the gif below doesn’t loop infinitely, she’s doing a certain number of situps for me. Thanks again, Charles. Keep going, eh lassie.

So comic update: haven’t technically started yet but we’ve got all the basic scenes setup and ready, and I’ve fully written the entire thing (and most of Comic #13), so I’m really just waiting for that je-ne-sais-quoi before I actually begin rendering and plough through it. Fun! In the meantime … exercise!

Oop, yep, Charlie’s definitely slowing down …

So I’ll give some updates over the next few weeks; we have some exciting minor new bit-part characters to introduce, and some hints to giveaway before the next Lithium’s out. So if your January and February are looking a bit colourless and dull, fear not!

PS. boobies. Prizes for whoever counts how many situps Charlie does in the middle gif.

  1. I miss Ix. Sometimes I visit this blog hoping to find experiments like this one where you use her model. I really hope she returns to the series. I saw she made a brief appearance in your recent work during a battle, that gave me hope. But I haven’t seen anything else about her since.

    1. Hi Hugo, thank you yes, I miss Ix a little too! I think honestly looking back, she represented something inside myself. I wrote that stuff when I was in my twenties and Ix’s character embodied that slightly tough animalistic part of myself that was holding a deep pain (Ix’s journey of sexual abuse which is hinted at the end of STFW), but was also an absolute badass despite her diminutive size.

Perhaps we all have that in us, the part that is misjudged by others, that appears cute and tiny, but is in fact an absolute weapon. And perhaps we all need that part from time to time, the part that gets us through the very difficult things and can triumph over all. I embodied her character later in Eep, when exploring similar themes in One Human, Being – she is used and starts hidden, but ultimately holds nobility within herself that can shift nations – Ix and Eep are synonymous in that sense.

I also used Ix’s model (literally) in creating Skylar – she’s based on Ix’s old Daz Victoria 4.2 model, given away on the STFW blog years ago – Skylar has the same body with some very minor tweaks. And Skylar also holds that misunderstood and misused weapon facet within herself.

In terms of the future – I have no plans to bring Ix back in her own right, her story moved her from faceless pilot to calm angel and I think there’s journey enough for anyone hehehh.

  2. Hi,

Thank you so much for your response. I found what you shared about Skylar really interesting, I’ll definitely pay more attention to her from now on.
It’s a bit sad that Ix won’t be coming back, but I guess that’s how it had to be.
Still, I really appreciate you taking the time to share this, and I hope you continue creating such memorable characters as you have so far. Keep up the great work!
