Okay minor setback on the upcoming comic, my stupid computer system is having a minor breakdown, which means I’m having to shift everything about like a happy gazelle … prancing? About the … digital? Wilderness? I don’t know, but it does mean I’ve had to actually BACK UP MY WORK for once, something I never normally do (I like to live on the edge).

… oh Ed, stop supporting Israel, will you? There’s a good chap. Anyway yeah so definitely don’t hold your breath for the next comic cos it’s on ice rn. I was hoping it’d be done by now, but despite hitting 100+ pages quite comfortably a few weeks back, I’ve had to stop and have conversations with people in shops about computers instead. You can imagine my displeasure.
Insert Prince Andrew and Bill Gates Dream-Team picture. Also I’ve been thinking it might be time to pooosssssibly slow down on the ol’ comics creation thing. More on this [much] later, but whatever your opinion on my dropping the hobby, you have to admit even if I quit this very afternoon, I have contributed a fairly decent chunk to the fappable materials on the entire internet. So this is a very quiet and minor heads-up that things might change at some point.
However! I’ve gotta get this next comic out somehow! Baby steps, eh Andrew?

Winding down this hobby doesn’t mean you can’t pick it up again should the desire return.
Way too many online creators feel trapped by their creations, or by their success in turn creating a demanding audience they feel they can’t refuse. It’s neither healthy nor sustainable. Bah-humbug to both!
I suspect you have more stories to share that may not work in comic form, and I hope you will choose to tell them, no matter the medium.
You’ve inspired me to share more of my own stories, starting in these comments, but soon elsewhere as well. Future comics from you will always be welcomed, but I can’t imagine them changing my direction as the existing comics already have.
However, for the moment, I could use some more lessons on how better to fictionalize my personal stories! 😏
Thanks Bob, yes I have a trillion more stories in me, there’s never any end of those! That’s great I’ve maybe inspired you to share a little – it’s so important, I think. Art [ie processing] is like a window, it shows us a view out and onto a landscape we can’t get to otherwise – sometimes that landscape is of the past, sometimes it’s of the present or the future, and as you know, sometimes it’s all three! Yes to writing more. Abundantly. Ridiculously. Unashamedly!
And in terms of fictionalizing, yeah why do you think I went the scifi route?!! Hehe “Errm there were these … kids … and they were … urmm … left to their own devices for too long and errrmmm …” 🍆
How dare you alter this work-hobby-life balance you put so much effort in?

Whatever drives you away from your hobby, and our pleasure, I hope there’s something in it for you.
You deserve quality time, happiness and… boobies!
But I hope it’s not purely owed to equipment giving up on you?
If so, I am willing to contribute to a fund raising thing you’d set-up.
And, brick by brick, baby step after baby step, achieve the required amount to get you back on-line.

Thanks Bruno, no I don’t think any equipment is required in this case but I appreciate the sentiment. This isn’t a big goodbye, it’s more a heads-up that nothing lasts forever, and this alias under which I work is getting a little heavily associated with such a broad body of work it may be time to create a lil’ bulkhead! It’ll be many months yet tho, knowing me.
I do hope it’s not the end, but….
If it is, its been great! I read your old stuff from time to time and still enjoy it immensely.
There are some pretty good artists out there, but none approach the depth of humanity that you explore and share with every story.
And that, I will miss.
